Updated version of the plagiarism checker is safe and efficient

Plagramme.com has been developing and improving multilingual text plagiarism detection control not only in Lithuania, but also in almost 100 countries worldwide. This year we have introduced a new version of the plagiarism check for our clients.

Updated version increases customers’ options to find up to 30-40 percent more similarities in the text, compared with the previous algorithm, detects and evaluates the quality of the citations as well as indicates paraphrased context of the document.

The company’s research indicates, that plagiarism risk of the uploaded students’ works in the system is steadily growing. Similarities indicating possible plagiarism of the documents under checker system in Lithuania reached 25,9 percent. This fact in the meantime reveals sufficiently low opportunities to control plagiarism in Lithuanian Universities and Colleges, not to mention the plagiarism reduction possibility.

After the whole plagiarism checker procedure the similarity score of students’ written works is significantly different from the overall average in Lithuania and makes up 8 percent.

In order to achieve an acceptable and recommended similarity score (5 percent) of written works and having the goal of reducing the risk of plagiarism, Plagramme provides free access to checker system for educators in Lithuania. From now on educators can upload up to 20 documents per month for checking free of charge. However, it is hardly possible for teachers’ efforts quickly and significantly reduce the risk of plagiarism. Active, enthusiastic and intolerant, as far as plagiarism is concerned, position of students is necessary: first works must be tested in checker system, before handling it to professors for evaluation.
